Picture a veteran in his 70s. Retired, VA benefits, doing fine. Right? Not always. Many pre-9-11 veterans are quietly struggling, and almost no one is looking. 

Hero's Bridge is looking.

In this episode of The Eleventh: The Mission Continues, Program Director Janelle Huffman shares how their Battle Buddy program matches volunteers with lonely veterans for visits and phone calls. One Vietnam veteran joined in 2019 and passed away in 2021. Janelle still visits his grave.

That is not a program. That is family.
